SLAGHL (rhymes with bagel) is an opportunity for fellowship and fun on and off the golf course. SLAHGL was formed in 2000 as a way for busy St. Luke golfers to get in some play without cutting into other activities. What started with a foursome has grown into a group of about 20 who may play anywhere from 2 to 40+ authorized SLAGHL rounds in a season. An authorized SLAGHL round is any 9 holes played with at least one other SLAGHL member, that’s where the fellowship comes in.

Historically the majority of rounds were 9 holes played with tee off prior to 6 AM.   As more members have joined, the tee times have broadened, so that it’s now possible to find someone to play with at almost any time.  The highlight of the year is the Fall season end tournament. To be eligible to play for the Commissioners Trophy you must have 10 SLAGHL rounds reported for the year.

Low handicaps are not a requirement to participate. In fact the average SLAHGLer plays to about a 23. A love (or at least a strong like) of the game, an interest in spending time with good friends, and a desire to have fun are the only real requirements.
