We Love Kids!
Children are celebrated at St. Luke. Our congregation includes many young families, and our children are active participants in our worship services, in music, in Sunday School and in missions. New members and friends are always welcome to any program, at any time!
Preschool-Grade 5
Preschool and elementary children (ages three through 5th grade) love Club Luke, our after-school program that meets every Wednesday from 4:30 to 5:30. One part singing and one part fellowship, Club Luke provides a variety of new and fun activities each week. While the kids are occupied, parents commiserate and find new friends during “Parenting Club” for one hour.
Also for children age 3 through 5th grade is our Vacation Bible School. Held each August, this one-week program takes place from 9:30 a.m. until noon, and concludes with a celebratory Sunday during which all participants sing. Come join us and learn about God’s love! We traveled to the African Plain, the Deep Sea and the Rainforest over the past few summers – all within the walls of St. Luke. We sing songs, make crafts, do a mission project….and of course, have snacks!
Middle School (Grades 6-8)
If you are in middle school (grades 6-8), then “JAZ” is the group for you! We meet Wednesday evenings, September through June, under the direction of our youth leader. JAZ includes dinner together at 5:30 p.m., followed by a group activity such as a discussion night, mission project or social activity. Past projects include making blankets for Project Linus, cooking for the homeless shelter and decorating for Christmas at a local nursing home. Fellowship activities include go-carting and mall scavenger hunts. Lock-ins and youth retreats are also part of planned activities.
Sr. High School (Grades 9-12)
Our high school youth group, “SOS,” is for youth in grades 9-12. They meet on Sundays afternoon or evenings for fellowship, study and service projects. The group participates in mission activities, social outings and discussion sessions. The Senior Highs also research, plan and fund-raise for summer mission trips to various parts of the country.
