Night Ministry

The Ecumenical Ministry reaches homeless adults and youth in the parks, streets and alleyways of Chicago's south side.

The Year 2000 marked the 20th anniversary of this outreach program, ministering to the youth and providing counseling, referral to services, sleeping bags, warm clothes, personal hygiene kits, and other essentials for living on the streets. The McNeil Outreach Health Bus conducts health screenings, offers counseling to youth at STDs and assistance to pregnant teens.

St. Luke participated with the Night Ministry during the summer of 2000 by hosting a Moonlight Picnic. We shared the fun of fellowship along with 200 hot dogs, chips and drinks to area residents of housing projects and people on the street.
