We Love Kids!
Children are celebrated at St. Luke. Our congregation includes many young families, and our children are active participants in our worship services, music, Sunday School and missions. New members and friends are always welcome to any program at any time!
Preschool and elementary children (ages three through 5th grade) love Club Luke, our after-school program that meets every Wednesday from 4:15 to 5:30pm. One part singing and one part fellowship, Club Luke provides a variety of new and fun activities each week.
Also for children age 3 through 5th grade is our Vacation Bible School. Held each August, this one-week program takes place from 9:30am until noon daily, and concludes with a celebratory Sunday during which all participants sing. Come join us and learn about God’s love! We sing songs, make crafts, do a mission project…and of course, have snacks! We are proud to commit to mission-based VBS so we can help others while having fun, including Habit for Humanity, local shelters and food pantries and clean water for all.
Junior and Senior High Youth
Youth in 6th through 12th grades are invited to attend worship together on Sunday mornings and continue meeting after the worship service until 1 pm in the Youth Lounge. Activiites include discussions, service projects and fellowship.
St Luke Youth participate in several retreats hosted by the Chicago Presbytery and go on an annual mission/service trip each summer. For more information on scheduled trips, please see the church calendar.
First Sunday of the Month: Youth are encouraged to take part in the leading of worship through participation as liturgists, serving communion, greeting and acting as ushers. Following worship on the first Sunday, youth go out to brunch together with our Youth Leader.
